Bone Grafting
Periodontal disease can wreak havoc on the jaw bone, making it impossible to support a dental implant without specialized treatment. If you are suffering from this condition, Dr. Allred may recommend bone grafting (also known as natural bone regeneration) to promote bone growth in the jaw. With this specialized treatment, your jaw bone will begin to regenerate and strengthen itself enough to support a dental implant.
Sinus Lift
Sinus lift surgery, also known as maxillary sinus elevation, is performed for patients who do not have enough bone height to support a dental implant or if the sinuses are too big or too close for an implant. This surgery allows for greater implant stability using a bone graft that is taken from the patient's body, from an allogeneic (human cadaver), or from a xenograft (cow) bone graft. Dr. Allred performs sinus lift surgery to provide more secure dental implants.
Ridge Augmentation
After tooth extraction, ridge augmentation is performed and involves placing a bone graft directly into the empty socket where the tooth's roots once were. This is done to help recreate the natural shape of the gums and jaw after an extraction. Ridge augmentation can prevent jawbone deterioration where a tooth socket once was following a tooth extraction, making it possible for patients to use dentures or receive dental implants in the future.

Tooth Extractions

Dr. Allred provides extractions for patients who are experiencing pain and discomfort or have an infection caused by a tooth that is damaged beyond repair. In some cases, a surgical extraction may be required, but simple extractions are also performed if the tooth appears above the gum line. Before any extraction, Dr. Allred will administer a dental exam and take digital x-rays to determine the extent of the damage.

Most patients get their wisdom teeth removed in their late teens or early 20s, but Dr. Allred will use his advanced diagnostic tools to determine when it's healthiest for you or your child to undergo this procedure.
